“I want to sincerely thank you for your architecture in Tokyo blog. It saved me so much time and effort of scouring through different articles to find interesting architecture and even more time of attempting to find the location of each building. You blog has been invaluable to make the most of my 1 month in Tokyo. It’s been very easy and convenient and I managed to see some remarkable architecture!”
Nikolay Gigov, 2025
“Just wanted to say how much my students and I have enjoyed your guide to Tokyo. I’m an architectural historian and take students to Tokyo every few years, and your guide has been very helpful.
I’m particularly grateful for your posts on buildings from the 1960s and earlier. Students tend to focus on famous contemporary architects and recent buildings, so introducing works such as the Tsuchiura Kameki house is extremely valuable.
Thanks for all the good work you’ve done for us Tokyo architecture observers.”Don Hoon Choi, 2020
…
In Tokyo you can find plenty of stunnig architecture, but it’s hard to take a decision which building to visit. Often, you also won’t find the exact adress. Architecture Tokyo will help you.
This site is an interactive architectural guide to Tokyo’s most famous and worth seeing buildings – including exact location. The selection is as a matter of course subjective and incomplete. The intention was to crystallize the most influential and important architecture of each decade – from the pre-war-modernist examples to recent minimalist architecture or from Kunio Maekawa to Sou Fujimoto.
